Rubiel Mosquera won’t be appearing in Columbus in the upcoming five weeks.
The 2024 Arnold Classic has suffered another setback in the Men’s Open segment. Rubiel Mosquera revealed on Tuesday afternoon that he will be absent from the Columbus event in five weeks. Widely known as “Neckzilla,” the bodybuilder disclosed that visa complications are preventing him from participating.
This news follows Andrew Jacked’s announcement that he will skip both the Arnold Classic and Arnold UK, with the competition looming just five weeks away. This year, the event is scheduled from March 1-3, 2024, at its regular location, the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH.
Mosquera shared the update via Instagram on Tuesday:
“Important Update: Due to unexpected visa challenges and my readiness, I’m stepping back from competing at @arnoldsports in Ohio, USA this year. My sincerest apologies to @arnoldsports and all my supporters.”

Rubiel Mosquera is also scheduled to compete at the Arnold Classic UK. He hasn’t withdrawn from that event and is still anticipated to participate, as of now. Neckzilla also emphasized his readiness to compete.
Mosquera graced the stage at the 2023 EVLS Prague Pro, delivering a remarkable performance. He secured his Pro Card just days earlier at the EVLS Prague Pro Amateur. Quickly after, Mosquera competed against some of the best in the world in Men’s Open, securing a bronze medal behind Samson Dauda and Michal Krizo. Though he didn’t win, Mosquera captivated the audience with his enormous size and potential.
Like many bodybuilders today, including Krizo, Mosquera transitioned from the IFBB Elite Pro League to the NPC. He swiftly earned his Pro Card and swiftly took to the stage in Men’s Open.
“My journey to the stage is on hold, but the dream lives on. ???? Grateful for your endless support, and looking forward to sharing my journey to the stage soon! ???????? #OnwardAndUpward#ArnoldSports“
Mosquera remains one of the most promising young talents in bodybuilding, and fans eagerly await his return to the stage to witness his growth.
