Jesse James West Tests 5 “Most Banned” Pre-Workouts: Will They Trigger a Drug Test Fail?

Jesse James West reviewed five of the most potent and heavily prohibited pre-workouts available.

Fitness influencer and bodybuilder Jesse James West has tackled numerous challenges at the gym. These include training sessions with bodybuilding legends, eating contests, and more. This time, West procured some of the “most banned” pre-workout supplements to appraise them on various criteria.

West has naturally sculpted his body and even started participating in competitions. In this article, we delve into Jesse James West’s experiment with these supplements to determine if he remains drug-free and natural after a five-day regimen.

“I’ve gathered a collection of the most prohibited supplements, found only in the darkest corners of the web, and I’ll be testing all of these banned items to see if they cause me to fail a drug test and jeopardize my natural status.”

West secured all supplements beforehand and consumed one each day throughout the week. Prior to beginning, West also consulted Derek from More Plates More Dates about the different compounds.

Pre-Workout 1: Jack3d

The first supplement tested was Jack3d. This mixture was introduced in 2009 and banned by the FDA within three years due to its proprietary blend, raising suspicions about its contents. It includes several components currently prohibited in many countries, such as:

  • 13 dimeth, or D.M.A.A.

“I can genuinely say this kicked in within 10 minutes, and I’m starting to feel some type of way. It reminds me of the excitement I had when I started working out. I feel great right now.”

West noticed the effects within 10 minutes, resulting in an incredible pump at the gym. He tackled a barbell bench press despite not doing this for three months.

“I want to say it’s not just the ingredients; I think it’s because I can push myself harder and focus intensely on pumping blood into the muscle.”

  • Flavor: 4 (out of 10)
  • Pump: 10
  • Energy: 8.5
  • Overall: 7.5

Pre-Workout 2: Mesomorph

Next, West tried Mesomorph, a pre-workout he first used at 18. Released in 2015, it surprisingly contains ingredients similar to Jack3d.

During the session, West experienced great energy initially, but it didn’t last.

“The scary part about Mesomorph is that you experience extreme highs, followed by extreme lows. The euphoria only lasted around 30 minutes. While I still feel good and energized, the intense excitement has faded.”

Post-gym, West dealt with cottonmouth and elevated stress.

“I don’t know if this pre-workout is dehydrating me or if one of the ingredients is responsible, but my tongue feels like cotton.”

  • Flavor: 6
  • Pump: 8
  • Energy: 7.5
  • Overall: 7.2

Pre-Workout 3: Ultimate Orange

Derek MPMD doubted the effectiveness of Ultimate Orange, noting that it lacked typical pre-workout ingredients.

“There isn’t a single pump ingredient…Nothing here represents what a pre-workout should include, other than flavor stimulants,” remarked Derek MPMD.

According to West, this pre-workout tasted great but had no other remarkable qualities.

“My power output isn’t what it was in the previous days. It feels like my CNS isn’t as stimulated.”

  • Flavor: 9
  • Pump: 7
  • Energy: 4

Pre-Workout 4: Craze

According to Derek MPMD, Craze’s chemical composition is quite unpredictable. West experienced good energy but didn’t get the best pump of the week.

“THE STIMULANTS WERE SMOOTH. THEY WEREN’T MAKING ME FEEL LIKE I WAS GOING TO CRASH OR PEAK. FRANKLY, THE PUMP WASN’T THAT IMPRESSIVE. HOWEVER, I WAS HAVING SUCH A GOOD WORKOUT THAT I WILL PROBABLY USE THIS SUPPLEMENT OCCASIONALLY.”

  • Flavor: 8
  • Pump: 6.5
  • Energy: 9
  • Overall: 7.8

Pre-Workout 5: Excelsior

Lastly, Jesse James West tried Excelsior, considered the most potent and “sketchy” of the group, and banned in the U.S.

“It contains four stimulants, two of which have highly overlapping mechanisms of action. The anxiety level could be very high,” said Derek MPMD.

West mentioned that his resting heart rate was 95 and rose to 110 upon entering the gym.

After his workouts, West underwent drug testing to verify if he remained natural. Despite taking five banned substances, he passed the tests.
