Professional Bodybuilder known as “El Charro” Lomeli was fatally shot while driving his truck on Thursday night.
Ex-bodybuilding titleholder Luis Manuel Lomeli met a tragic end on Thursday night. Charro Lomeli was maneuvering his Dodge Ram truck in the San Jeronimo area of Leon, Guanajuato on Juan Alonso de Torres boulevard when two gunmen in another vehicle opened fire on him, as per multiple reports.
Reports suggest that Lomeli was allegedly heading to the gym at the time of the incident. In an attempt to reverse his car, he collided with another vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities piecing together evidence from the scene and reviewing security footage to uncover more details.
This incident marked the second attack on Lomeli this year. According to La Silla Rota Guanajuato, Lomeli was the target of a similar assault around five months ago, where he sustained an arm injury from a bullet graze.
During that period, Lomeli was preparing to organize a bodybuilding event but had to cancel it. While Lomeli had retired from competition, he continued to coach others for contests. Fit Journey Now founders, Vlad Yudin and Edwin Mejia Jr., recently met El Charro at The Fit Weekend 2023 in Mexico City.
