Standing at 5’7” tall, Platz reportedly weighed between 225 and 235 lbs at his peak, with legs measuring over 30 inches in circumference. Many attribute his lack of symmetry, being more bottom-heavy, as the reason for his downfall in the Olympia contests.

The Golden Era bodybuilder firmly believed in training to failure; while some dismissed it as unnecessary volume, Platz maintained – and continues to exhibit – outstanding leg development.
