Ahmo Hight was among the pioneering fitness models who experienced immense success over her career.
Fitness model Ahmo Hight departed this life at 50 years old on Tuesday morning, August 29th, 2023. Hight achieved a flourishing career as a bodybuilding competitor and was one of the earliest fitness models, gracing numerous magazine covers including Ironman Magazine. Pro bodybuilder Chris Cormier, who co-parented a son with Hight, confirmed the news of her passing through Fit Journey Now.
Although the precise cause of death remains undisclosed, Ahmo Hight sustained an injury while exiting a marketplace. She appeared to have slipped, fallen, and hit her head. Despite the injury, Hight did not seek medical attention immediately after her fall. On Tuesday morning, she awoke without an appetite and went back to sleep, passing away shortly afterward around 9 a.m. Medical experts surmise that the probable cause was a blood clot resulting from the initial injury.

Ahmo Hight had a passion for fitness and athletics from a young age. Raised in a small town named Cloquet in Minnesota, she developed a love for gymnastics. This provided an opportunity for Hight to showcase her remarkable talent and establish a dedicated training regimen.

Ahmo Hight practiced gymnastics daily after school, building a formidable physique to compete on stage. She appeared in a 1996 edition of Ironman magazine where she discussed her early commitment to this lifestyle.
“We trained everyday after school. It was more [like] family. The training was so much more elite there than what I was doing at the local community gym. I responded to that kind of training.”
Hight gained prominence in 1994 after winning the Ms. Fitness USA in the Western States Division tournament and Ms. Fit Body Bay Area. This propelled her career into modeling for various fitness magazines.

Ahmo Hight was among the initial models to emphasize fitness, effectively becoming the first fitness model. Combining her striking beauty with an exceptional physique, Hight helped initiate a focus on physical fitness within the female sector.
